1Overview

With over 30 years of experience in the Spanish market, Cofidis is a trusted financial partner across Europe that offers personal loans, debt consolidation, point-of-sale financing, and insurance.

We were selected to redesign their online presence to accompany their product expansion, and fulfill Cofidis need for modernization.

We focused on redefining the website’s structure and navigation to highlight key products to then design an optimized user journey, ensuring a seamless mobile accessibility, and boost conversion rates.

3Process & takeaways

01. Gaining actionable insights from multiple sources

We kicked off the project by adopting a multi-method strategy to gather insights. Working closely with Cofidis’s specialized team, Innolab, we conducted user tests and interviews to understand customer navigation on their existing website.

Since we wanted to enhance user experience and boost website conversion rates, we conducted nine workshops with stakeholders and delved into in-depth analyses of website metrics. Additionally, we performed quantitative assessments, such as traffic analysis, bounce rates, and time spent, and qualitative research utilizing tools like Crazy Egg.

Our holistic methodology drove actionable insights that guided our strategic recommendations.

02. Focusing on product discoverability and usability

Our collaboration with the Cofidis team focused on enhancing product discoverability and website usability.

To achieve this, we analyzed their website’s information architecture and navigation to pinpoint redundancies and emphasize critical information.

We noticed that users often got frustrated and ultimately abandoned Cofidis’s website due to its structural complexity, as it was difficult for them to find products and understand the information provided.

In response, we optimized the website’s architecture and revamped the content presentation. This involved rethinking menus for coherence, categorizing elements logically, and introducing visual systems to facilitate quick and easy access to information. We also incorporated validation elements such as testimonials and product recommendations, along with implementing visual cues to assist users in navigation.

03. Creating a flexible Design System

We created a flexible and scalable Design System from the ground up, tailored to Cofidis’s needs. This involved creating modular components with extensive customization options that allowed their integration throughout different parts of the website.

Our Design System not only ensured uniformity but also paved the way for future expansion and development – all the while upholding brand consistency.

04. Placing the mobile experience at the forefront

As most users accessed Cofidis’s website via mobile devices, we ensured our design was responsive across all devices. This involved carefully considering differences in user behavior between desktop and mobile platforms and adapting system components accordingly.

By encompassing desktop and mobile behaviors within our Design System, we aimed to provide a fluid user experience, accessible to all users regardless of their preferred device.
