1Overview

For Moneyman, an online-only lending service, optimizing conversion rates is critical for driving top-line growth.

For over four years, we have served as the digital product partner for ID Finance, Moneyman’s parent company. Our strategy has been based on simple designs, focusing on the most important tasks a user needs to accomplish at every step and generating trust by being straightforward.

01. A close collaboration focused on optimization

Collaborating as a fully integrated design team, we redesigned their digital product, targeting funnel optimization across Spain, Mexico, and Brazil. Our approach involved a detailed analysis of the loan application funnel, complemented by multiple rounds of qualitative research, including focus groups and one-on-one interviews – which aimed to uncover insights for driving conversion rate improvements.

Following each research round, we released designs that had been A/B tested before being rolled out to production.

All design iterations collectively contributed to a 50% increase in conversion rates from the homepage to the purchase funnel.

02. Designing variations based on cultural differences

Designing for diverse countries spanning continents requires careful consideration of cultural differences. Involving local client teams in design reviews was key to identifying areas where these cultural nuances could impact user experience.

Two critical insights emerged from this collaborative process: payment methods and security claims. Recognizing the variance in user journeys for payments in each country, we tailored our approach accordingly. In addition, we refined the selection and presentation of trusted sources to improve trust rates.

User research also emphasized the importance of transparency, particularly in showcasing loan terms upfront. Responding to this feedback, we introduced an interactive simulator, empowering users to estimate their loan terms before committing to the application process.

03. Expanding redesign efforts across platforms

As the redesign initiative advanced, we expanded our focus to encompass other platforms.

Moneyman’s existing mobile app in Mexico and Spain catered primarily to recurring users. Our team redesigned the app, prioritizing features tailored to this user segment and including a loyalty system. Plus, we improved the Design System to facilitate the swift development of future multi-platform endeavors.
